Looking for another great reason to buy a house in the Twin Cities? Minnesota has safer roads than other states based on a recent study.
The study from CarInsuranceComparison.com looked at:
- Crash fatalities (accidents where drivers were speeding, intoxicated or careless)
- Adherence to traffic signals
- Seat belt compliance
- Driver's license validity
In the study, a lower score correlates with a higher risk. "The state's lowest marks came in the categories of fatal crashes from speeding and the 'Failure to Obey' traffic laws category," reports Minnesota's Star Tribune. "The state's highest mark was its low fatality rate per every 100 million vehicle miles traveled and the number of deaths that resulted from careless driving."
